done loaded a ne procedure for Fluke today for the Tek TDS 3044B. This unit has no GPIB connector. Instead the procedure uses the Lan connection.
Being on a secure dot MIL net. where I can't connect the UUT to the LAN, and MetCal is running off the server. So I can't connect it to the lan port on the computer.
So, how do you guys get around this issue.

Ouch. I know we pulled our controllers off the domain and onto a local network for just this issue here. Especially when "adjusting" the Wiltron/Anritsu generators......
Could possibly unplug the computer once you have logged in and then hook the UUT up instead of the LAN, as an interim fix....

Our controllers are also our workstations for email, word, excel and internet for checking Manufactures websites for manuals etc.
Best option is a stand alone system with MetCal on it instead of running it off the server.
Just looking for options.

We have a Cal Lab Solutions procedure that is pulled from the network,but we use a TEK-USB adapter and hook the USB to the UUT and the GPIB to the Metcal GPIB port. Works excellant

Most of my customers purchase and keep the GPIB adaptors in the lab.. When a scope comes in that does not have a GPIB controller they install the one they have in the lab.
They are about 500 dollars each, but when you compair that to the cost of testing the scope manually, it makes good business sense.
The Following have external / removable GPIB adaptors
TDS3000 Series
TDS2000 Series
MSO/DPO2000-4000
And if you want to open the scope, the older TDS like the TDS300 series can be opened the GPIB option installed, then cal the scope and remove the GPIB Option.

When I first posted this question. I did not have time to look at the manual or spec's. I only know there wasn't any GPIB. I still haven't had a lot of time on this, but I have 9 months till the UUT come do.
And I've got 14 days till I go stateside for 30 days.
When I get back, it's time to hit the books and start making plans.
