This will likey stir up a sh!t storm, but has anyone viewed a duckbutta post only to have your child walk past and see the super hot chick he uses as his avatar? Not trying to be a spoiler here, but I find it a pain in the ass to wait until my children are in bed before I can read PMEL forum. The lady in the photo is beyond hot, but you really have to be in a non public area to view any threads where duck might have posted. If I want to look at hot women, I'm certainly not clicking on PMEL forum to do so.
When Hoopty let him use it again, it was mainly because there is an ignore feature now that you can use to block him & his avatar out. Just do it! Seriously, it's the simplest solution.
Roger that Griff. Forgive my ignorance on this one.
No biggie, it's one of those things you kind of had to see as it happened to know...and I have no life...
Trying being a female and your male co worker is looking over your shoulder and have that avatar pop up!!!!! I don't know who was more embarrassed!!!! He certainly didn't think it was appropriate or professional. Says alot about the individual too who needs such an avatar.
The ignore feature only works if you sign in under your user name and you put that person on ignore.
For those than log under guest.... I guess it's viewer beware!!!!!!
Like ZZ said do you have to be in a private area to view PMEL forum?!!!!

I can see how that is embarrassing.
ZZ-
If you are looking at PMEL Forum for professional networking and opinion, then setting up a profile and using the ignore option for unprofessional content is appropriate. Most on this site keep it professional and courteous, although some threads do get heated sometimes (mostly political).

Good points. I'll be sure to login from now on to avoid any embarrasment in the future. Its kind of strange having to log into a website in order not to view any questionable material. :?

It keeps us on our toes, luckily there aren't many threads to avoid...
FIXED. No avatars for guests.
Wow, nice Hoopty. Now I can surf the forum from work with no worries about the Army computer gestapo catching me looking at a harmless avatar :-D
*mutters incoherently about computer nazis*

Didn't sting even a little bit
Funny - or not so funny - this happened to me when I was talking to a very nice female co-worker about the Agilent/Davis deal. She wanted to see what the community was saying about it, so I Googled PMEL Forum from her machine. The first post that showed up was Duck's - it was not very comfortable for either of us. I got the iggy on at my machine but forgot that the most inappropriate thing on the whole site would be the first thing she's see.
Hoopty,
Thank you for finding a resolution to this situation that we can all live with. I certainly appereciate it.
I would also like to extend an apology to those that may have been put into an uncomfortable position, that certainly was not my intent when I posted the avatar. I hope the new feature will allow you to enjoy the Forums at work as well as at home.
I don't see anything wrong with Duckbutta's avatar!!!
That's just...I'm too old for this..
My avatar on another site..a rootbeear float for whoever can identify the author...
