Post by: Broken_Wings on 07-24-2009 -- 15:55:09
Ghostbusters 3
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1289401/

Long time excited say since I bookmarked it over a year ago. Live action G.I. Joe
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1046173/

Somebody told me about District 9. Directed by nobody and starring nobody.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1136608/

I'm pretty sure there's some DC Comics or Marvel Comics movies in the pipeline too.

TRON in 2010!  The preview so far isn't very informative, but Jeff Bridges will be reprising his role as Flynn.  It looks like he may be the bad guy for this one though. (that is pure speculation, though)  If you get a chance, stop by Apple.com and check out the trailer.

Steve McQueen at his steely-eyed best as Detective Frank Bullitt. Set in late 60s San Francisco, we follow Bullitt as he tries to protect a witness from a bunch of thugs who dont want him to confess. The plot doesn't matter so much, what matters is (a) Steve Mcqueen (b) McQueen's souped up 390 Mustang. Mcqueen did most of his own stunt driving, realism which pays off with one of the best car chases on film! Bullitt is more proof that Mcqueen was the king of cool...on screen and off.

One of the greatest, if not the greatest of all time chase scenes.

Possiblity for a good movie, from the only preview I've seen, is Daybreakers.  The world is now almost entirely populated by vampires and the food is getting scarce...
It has potential...maybe.

That one looks like it could be pretty good.  Maybe a little humor element to it.  I'll think I'll probably wait for that one until it comes out on video though.  Then, I've been doing that a lot lately.  Not really a whole lot worth going to see in theatres.

I wait for virtually all of them to come out on video, I only get to a theater 2 or 3 times a year, if that much. Too much money, too many stinker movies, I live on Netfix, lol

Sometimes I'll rent from XboX Live or just bypass the whole system.  I can't even justify paying to own most of these titles.

INGLOURIOUS B*STERDS  - went to see with my 20 year old son last Saturday.

Mixed feelings.  Some brilliant acting and a very well made movie.  The actor who protrayed the nazi Colonel Landa did an outstanding job with the part.

The down side is there was a lot of gory violence.  It made me wince more than once.  also, there were some major historical details that were very fictitionalized.  I won't say what they were in case anyone may go see it.  Curious as to what others may think.

Pretty much have to check reality at the door for every movie I see these days.  With that being said, I've really learned to enjoy movies more.  Loved Inglorious as well as District 9.  Tonight is Final Destination, but would rather be seeing Hurt Locker-which I know nothing about, but former EOD buddy loved it.

I am interested in The Boondock Saints 2.  Hopefully it will be at least as good as the first one.

No "This is it" nominations?
I'm mildly interest in the remake of Red Dawn, not holding out a lot of hope though, I figure it'll be pretty dumbed down and politically corrected so as not to cause confusion with the administration.

I'm sure it will probably not be as good.  Besides, why are they remaking Red Dawn?  What was wrong with the first one?  Given the times in which it is being remade, are we going to invade ourselves (given the current administration) or are they going to take the Chinese route?  Could go either way if you ask me.

"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" remake with Mike Myers.  Looks like it might be good.

Un-named Bourne project is in progress with Matt Damon.  If I remember correctly, there were only three Bourne novels by Ludlum who died.  But a "Ludlum Clone" wrote two more novels.  So there may be one more after this one.

Where are all the good actors lately.  I want another Braveheart, of Gladiator, or Scream 5 (just kidding about that one).

Anyone into imdb[dot]com, Brad Pitt has 21 movies either upcoming or planned.

I think we must be in between superstars, because there still looks to be a movie drought.  There just aren't very many good movies coming down the pike right now.

I would have to agree.  I haven't even really been looking to see what's coming out because I have no faith that there will be anything worth checking out.  The most I have done is gone to Apple's site and looked at the new trailers that have come out.  Other than that I really don't care.

I wonder how much CGI is cutting in to acting, still voice work to be had, they do seem to land people with some thespian cred for that.

I'm curious about "Men Who Stare at Goats"  and semi curious about "The Box" as the writer/director did the original Donnie Darko film.
Any takers on "The Fourth Kind" ?

http://www.imdb.com/nowplaying/ (http://www.imdb.com/nowplaying/) New releases are listed up top and soon to be released on the right.

Last thing I did see was G.I. Joe. Missed out on District 9 because I felt like crap opening day. That's basically the only day I'll go or the first Friday its out.

Things look better for 2010 with such releases as Iron Man 2, Wolfman, Toy Story 3, and
Predators being one I really want to see.

I'm waiting for the creative geniuses in Hollywood to remake all the Police Acadamy movies...or maybe they can continue in the same vein as The Honeymooners movie and make a big screen version of Good Times starring Dane Cook as JJ...
