My 20-year-old recently bought us our first HDTV. It's a 32 inch Visio with full 1080p. We replaced our 26 inch CRT type TV in the living room. I think because it's designed to be connected into a surround sound system, they put these nasty, tinny-sounding little speakers in it. My old 26 inch sounds much better. I tried monkeying with the EQ, and improved it some.
What I'm thinking is that I have a nice pair of Bose 201's that are sitting unused. I'm thinking of finding a little cheap amplifier and connecting them in (can't afford surround system at the moment).
Any good cheap ideas?
In order to get any quality of sound with the newer TVs, you almost HAVE to go external- whether it be surround, simulated surround, etc etc
I went with a nice Bose 321 setup. Sounds awesome, didn't break the bank, and it has a DVD player built in with upconverter. Now I just have to buy a PS3 JUST for the BluRay player.
Even a 2.1 self-powered computer speaker setup would be an improvement.
