Title: Recommended Alternative to Run HP 4284A Adjustment Software
Post by: Hawaii596 on 07-18-2014 -- 09:52:55
I need to spec out and set up a computer to run HP 4284A Adjustment Software.  I have the software, and we have an HP hard disk (but not sure if it is running).  The software requires HP BASIC at least v5.0,

BINARY REQUIREMENTS: GRAPH, GRAPHX, HPIB, MAT, KBD, CLOCK, ERR, IO, CRTA, COMPLEX, CRTX (HP BASIC 5.0).

Anyone have any clues where I could locate HP BASIC at least v5.0?

Also, in exchange for assistance with getting this set up, I would be willing to share the HP 4284A adjustment software.

We've got an old HP 9153C hard disk/floppy disk assembly, and just bought a 9000 series from ebay.  The hpmuseum website is a good find.  Thanks for that.  I downloaded some of the BASIC software items.  I'm kind of hoping that maybe a lot will be loaded on the HP 9153C that will help.  I'm guessing we may have had a 9000 series computer (since we have the drive.  If I can get the whole thing running, hopefully in business adjusting HP 4284A's.  We own a few.  So it will be pretty useful.

Did you get it running? I've been searching for that software for ages and never found it. If you need help setting up the old 9000, feel free to contact me. We generally wind up porting all of this old software over to PC (as long as it doesn't use compiled subroutines which we haven't found a way around...yet).

If push comes to shove, I may be able to send you an old controller to use if you have a quick need.

Hello I have the same problem on a 4284A out of spec. Is there any possibility to have the adjustment program?

I can share the following links/docs:
