The Cubans in Miami are all getting ready to move back to the home country...

I heard that Castro's brother was more fanatical than he.

With Fidel Out, Cuba Is a Powder Keg
by Humberto Fontova

With Fidel Castro temporarily transferring power to brother Raul, head of Cuba's Armed Forces, the time appears near for changing of the guard in the Communist country.

Knowing the succession was imminent-- and as a clear warning to the Cuban people -- Cuba's Armed forces recently held massive maneuvers. While giving a speech hailing the maneuvers, Raul wore a bulletproof vest under his uniform (Fidel has never worn one.)

Raul knows he's unpopular. His first official act in Jan. 8 1959, was lining up 150 potential regime opponents in front of a ditch and having them machine gunned and bulldozed into a mass grave.

Most long-time observers doubt he can hold things together. He doesn't have the charisma of his brother nor his gift of guile.

Many observers think the only reason the regime made Fidel's official succession announcement is because Fidel is already dead or on life support. Right now Cuba is a powder keg.

How long until Castor's brother starts begging for help? What this will do will cause them to allie with Pres. Chavez and revive communism in the western hemishpere. Raul has no choice but to basically give in to Chavez. I see this a real danger and we need to take the communist regime out of Cuba immediately. I think we could liberate Cuba in 1 day with minimum casualties on both sides. I recommend we invade Cuba ASAP. Right now would be the perfect time to do it.

Who's not deployed that could go?  4th ID?  101st Airborne?  Me & Coup?  (I have a "combat metrologist" hat around here somewhere...)

Where's Devil Dog?  We might need someone who has some actual combat training!  I shot an M-16 twice in my career, so I might need a little refresher...  'Course, when a Cuban Army infantry division stands in front of me with their arms up in surrender, I may not actually have to shoot the gun anyway!

I was taught in the Navy how to shoot the M16, M14 ( My Favorite ), 1911-A1 and shotgun. However, the M14 is a 30-06 and I have shot those since I was a kid and the same goes with the 1911-A1 ( I own one now ) and the shotgun. Give me a modified M14, LAW rocket, Grenades and  a .45 ACP and I'm ready. We can let Devil_Dog hit the beaches first since he is the Marine.

I'll be fine with an M-16, and a pump-action shotgun over my shoulder, with a .45 Colt Combat Commander for a side arm.  Grenades would be fun- never played with them before!

As usual for an air force weenie, I'll be right behind you all the way, flak vest and all!

A good cigar after all the hub-bub dies down would be nice...

I am military trained on the M-16, M-1, M-60 and 9 mm.  Also 12 ga, 30-06, 30-30, 308.  I also have a 410 that Coup can use.

Just give me "Puff" and I'll take care of the whole mess.  They do have an updated version of Puff don't they?  From a C-47 to a C-130.  (I can't remember the gunship designation for those two planes)

My fault- I started it after the stolen truck in Miami; my imagination put 2 and 2 together, and off we go to Cuba...

A .410 shotgun? My 8 year old uses one of those. I prefer the modified M14. And about 10 baseball grenades. I also need a SatPhone to call in airstrikes and Atry.
