Volt Services wants to hire a RF tech with 5 years exp. in California for $18 an hour. What in the world? We have a guy here in Orlando that has no PMEL school and has been in the business for only 5 years and only works in 2 areas in the Phys.D lab and he makes $20 an hour. These guys are poison to metrology. You know good and well that they do not hire qualified techs for the amount of money they pay. I would warn every company out there not to use these people. You won't get what you pay for.
Hey Volt Services, Thanks for the slap in the face. :x
$18/hour in California? OK, so when you wake up in the morning, you open your car door and walk across the parking lot to work?
You can't afford a car in Cali with that kind of pay. You leave your card board box and go leave the alley across the parking lot to the lab. Volt services is a joke. I wish I could get in contact with their techs that have PMEl school, becuase if they are any good I would have them working for my company. RF techs should be making $26-$28 an hour and in Cali they should be making about $34-$37 per hr. But then again that's why Volt does not have any techs that are worth a dime. If they were we or someone else would hire them. We have a tech in California that has no PMEL and he started at $60k a year ( $28.85 per hr.).
I just found out why they offer so little money. It is a staffing agency. This people have no clue what we make. They are going to be laughed at.

Yeah those guys are a total joke. They are trying to hire RF Techs for Agilent Technologies in Roseville. The problem is not really Volt, it is Agilent trying to get as cheap a tech as they can possibly get. They don't want to pay true wages or benefits. And yes the techs there really are dumber than a bag of rocks. I worked there for about 2 years, and was amazed by the level of technician that worked there.
I guess Agilent is out to ruin their good name. :|
18/hr in Cali...? We're do I sign?
They have some real balls to post a job with that low of pay. :-o
