XboX Reliability

For those of you with a 360, which category do you fall under?

Sent in for repair under 3 year extended warranty.

Sent in for standard one year warranty repair.
0 (0%)
Sent in for out of normal warranty repair. (problem not covered by extended warranty)
2 (28.6%)
I have not had a problem with my XboX.

I recently had to send my XboX in under the 3 year extended warranty, and I was curious as to how many other people have had similar issues with theirs.  Most of the people I have talked to have had some kind of issue.

I sent mine for repair after I got the three red ring segments of death, but it was after the regular warranty period expired. Good thing they were fixing that problem for free! :-D

4 repairs in 3 years..Finally able to convince CompUSA to give me e refund..purchased the Elite version with the refund ....now going on a year with no issues...

I have had mine for 3 years and have yet to have a problem. Fingers crossed. :|

Coup, thats got to be some kind of record. I dont know anyone who hasnt had the 360 in for service at least once

My 19-year-old son is a very avid video gamer.  Our 360 had the infamous "three rings of death".  We got rid of it and replaced it with a PS3.

    After returning from repair, my 360 is running strong and I have a PS3 now, just in case!

  Traitor?  Perhaps.  At least Sony saw fit to release a product that does not require such extensive repair.   :lol:

I love my 360, yes, had the error 74 or whatever, but it was a free repair, so no biggie. It's great for watching NetFlix and Rock Band!

Just scrapped the Wii (too cartoony), and not interested in a PS3 unless the market can't come up with a cheap and reliable Blue Ray player. All I see are bad reviews on the moderately priced ones......

We've had both PS3 and XBOX360.  I think it's a close call between them.  Sometimes I can't tell much difference.  As we're in a "PS3" phase, I'm currently leaning a little toward the PS3.  We had problems with a couple of the 360's, and had to pay for the online service that was impossible to cancel (had to call a number during weekday business hours, and every time we called it, sat on hold for a very long time.  We finally gave  up.  I changed my debit card so that the one they had on file would no longer pay them.  We get free online connection for Socom via PS3 now; and we haven't had any reliability issues with it thus far.

    Well, after the repair my XboX seems to be working nicely.  Hopefully it will remain that way for quite some time.  I have made sure it has plenty of room to breathe so that heat will not be such an issue in the future.

My son's had the ring of death right after the warranty ran out.   $100 later it was repaired.   No problems since.
