Electronics Technician II

Yulista Management Services is Recruiting for Elmendorf AFB, AK

Positions require experience in basic metrology principles as applied to all measurement disciplines.  Position requires extensive knowledge in the K6 Physical/Dimensional section of the PMEL.  Responsibilities include calibration/repair of the K6 standards as well as basic K5 Temperature and K6 TMDE.  Experience shall include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating, and certifying TMDE, metrology laboratory working standards and safe work practices/procedures.  Must be familiar and comply with all applicable directives.  Experience shall include metrology techniques and laboratory practices, inspecting, troubleshooting to component level, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating, and certifying TMDE and metrology laboratory working standards, and safe work practices/procedures.  Applicant must have USAF Metrology training or equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications:
Proof of formal military or civilian metrology training in the calibration and repair of TMDE.  A minimum of 4 years of verifiable recent experience in a metrology laboratory performing calibration and repair of TMDE.  Experience in a USAF PMEL is preferred.  Applicants must have normal color vision, pass drug screenings, and be a U.S. Citizen able to acquire and retain a Security Clearance. Must have a valid and current driver's license.

Other desirable qualifications:
Knowledgeable of the USAF PMEL Automated Management System, the USAF Metrology and Calibration Program, the USAF Management System and Quality Program requirements, mathematical concepts and skills, and computer skills.

Additionally:
Able to perform additional duties or responsibilities assigned by management to support the requirements of the Statement of Work including janitorial duties.

I'll always remember my first morning at Elmendorf after completing the basic course at Lowry. I woke up in temporary housing and left on foot to go find a chow hall (it was February). I thought I had stepped out the door into the middle of a Tolkien novel. I had the honor of spending the next three years serving my country in the most beautiful place on earth.

When I was there it was ski season and beer season. Luckily, ski season was much longer duration.

I am reminded of a Dilbert cartoon where one of Dilberts coworkers was to be shipped off to antarctica. They told him to take his drivers license because he was more or less gonna freeze his parts off and that would be the only way the other people there could tell if he was male or female...
