We are contesting an Uncertainty deficiency with A2LA. We are doing it right, and they are wrong. The actual Policy we were inspected on it P109 which expires 12-31-11. P110 goes in effect on 1-01-12.The portion of P109 that the deficiency is written against will actually go away with P110. They still will not budge. nor listen to reason.-Suggestions please.

I always say every body has a boss. Go as high as you can within that organization. Then if that does not work go to who over governs them.

I can see their point though as it is still in effect until the end of the year.

We had a problem with them as they wrote us up during an audit but we fixed problem before the final outbrief and it was not listed on the outbrief paperwork as a write up. When the auditor submitted paperwork to A2LA the write up was on his submitted report so we had to respond to the write up. We didn't get any help with this issue either.

I can't believe that you actually need a traceable calibration on a 50 turn coil of wire. I mean come on, IT IS WIRE!

My former employer switched from using A2LA to L-A-B for their ISO 17025 accedidation because of issues like this.

At one point over 10 years ago they were forced to purchase Fluke 5500A-Coils by the A2LA assessor.

It seems to me that A2LA is just assessing against the current (presently in effect) state of the policy. That said, THEY are right, and YOU are wrong. That's why they won't budge - they ARE listening to reason, i.e., the current policy in effect. In my opinion, I would steer clear of (changing or using) any other accrediting body that would be willing to buy off on this situation, at least, as you represent it here.

You could postpone your response to A2LA until next month when their new policy is in effect.
