If you know this Tip/Trick please don't beat me.  But it is something I have told just about every MET/CAL user my company has worked with..

One of the comments I get from (newer) MET/CAL user is the results are all wacked up showing that a test point failed several times then finally passed as they repeated the test, usually reading the connection message the second time.

So when you fail a test point, you get the Post Test Window.. In that window there are several buttons:
Advance - Logs the failure and keep on trucking
Repeat - Logs the failure and re-tests the test point..
Cancel - DOES NOT LOG FAILUER, and re-test the test point.

So if you don't want MET/CAL to report failures on repeated test points press the CANCEL button not the Repeat button.

Mike is correct. However, the choice to "Cancel" in the Post Test Dialog box does not appear unless:
o ASK+ X is specified at the procedure level
    o The parameter/value, "ask_x_default         = yes" is specified in the metcal.ini file
