QuoteI do not need the government to control or provide my healthcare. I'm a big boy and can do that for myself. The idea that the Government can fix or operate anything with any efficiency is foolish and naive.
I think bashing government workers is just as foolish and naive as bashing active duty or Military veterans. I personally know a lot of people who work for the government, my wife included, who are hard-working, dedicated professionals. They care deeply about their mission and helping others, and work hard, long hours to innovate and provide services efficiently. You sound a lot like Meagan May when you spout dribble like that. And by the way, I'm glad to hear you opted out of your employer-provided health insurance and decided to "do that for myself". I'm sure that individual policy is working out good for you.

Uuumm. I was speaking in terms of the government machine. And yes it is broken because the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Here is an example. Try to go to the Obamacare website and see what you get. 3 weeks and still broken. I guess your satisfied with that? It makes my point. You can turn a blind eye and act like everything is fine. I guess ignorance is bliss to you.

Oh, and yes. I chose the employer I work for and I chose them in part for the great health insurance without the government holding my hand.  Yes I did it myself, so what was your point?

Just as I thought. You're not providing your own healthcare, your employer is. So your employer is "holding your hand"?

Read what he said..."I chose the employer I work for and I chose them in part for the great health insurance without the government holding my hand". It was HIS choice...not the government's. How hard is that concept to grasp for you?

Is Direct TV "holding your hand" because you chose them over the other competitors to provide you HD TV?

The key word being "chose".

That is a very poor argument.  Employers offer healthcare to recruit talent.  If you, as an employer, didnt offer healthcare or any other benefits and your competitor did who do you think potential employees would choose to work for?  Not brain science.   No law forced employers to offer healthcare/401K/Dental/Vision/etc.  It is part of a benifits package to entice potential employees to choose them vs there competitors.  I know for me benefits were just as important of a factor as pay.  Let the highest bidder win to get my talent.

Well, if you don't consider group health insurance facilitated by your employer and partially paid for by you hand-holding, why do you consider group health insurance facilitated by the government and partially paid for by the buyer hand-holding? It's just group health insurance at a more affordable rate than individual policies.
