Hello everyone,

Could someone with knowledge Navsea 04-4734B, explain what this document is?  Would this be the Navy's equivalent to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories?

Anything you could share would be greatly appreciated.

Also where/how could I obtain a copy?

Thank you

The Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA SYSCOM) Instruction 4734 is a high-level Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) Program policy document that applies the NAVSEA SYSCOM surface vessels within the Navy.  NAVAIR SYSCOM (Navy and Marine Aviation units), Ground Marines, and submarines have similar policy documents.  All Naval SYSCOM METCAL policy documents reference ANSI-z540 and/or ISO-17025, but because of the Navy's unique mission, their internal documents set technical authority and policy regarding METCAL programs.  The 04-4734 was the NAVSEA METCAL lab audit/certification manual. Many documents like 4734 are public and can be found on the internet.  Hope this helps.
