RF/Microwave Advisory Calibration Technician – PMEL – Kuwait

Job Summary:
Provides training and advice for repair, calibration, and modification of the wide variety of complex precision measurement equipment utilized by the GOK activities.

Principal Accountabilities:
•  Provides technical and procedural advice and guidance to KAF personnel and other GOK personnel concerning metrology related matters such as the repair, calibration or modification of precision measurement equipment, the conduct of laboratory operations and the resolution of customer measurement problems. 
•  Provides in-depth technical expertise in one or more of the following disciplinary categories and can provide OJT or formal classroom training as required. 
•  Performs precision measurements, calibrations, modifications, maintenance and repair actions, and other functions as necessary in all areas of laboratory operations. 
•  Directs, conducts and evaluates the development of calibration procedures for assigned equipment. 
•  Assists in obtaining and maintaining laboratory QA accreditation. 
•  Submits Reports and Action Requests as required. 
•  Perform other duties as assigned. 

Physical Requirements:
Some work outside with temperatures reaching 120 degrees Fahrenheit

Experience Required:
A working knowledge of the basic concepts of electronics and science.  This knowledge shall include basic electricity, electronics, circuit theory, digital logic, algebra, and physics. 
An Associates degree in electronics technology from an accredited school and have eight (8) years work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electronic precision measurement and calibration laboratory reference standards OR
Completion of a U. S.  military precision measurement and calibration program, a precision measurement and calibration school at an accredited school, or within a specialized calibration firm, AND
Eight (8) years experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electronic Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).  Experience with equipment such as analog and digital multimeters, electronic counters, function generators, signal generators, analog and digital tape recorders, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and calibration laboratory measurement standards. 
At least three (3) years experience in RF/Microwave calibration
Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting IM&TE and calibration reference standards by making measurements with test equipment to identify problems to the component level and demonstrated basic electronic construction and repair skills including soldering and wiring – including the ability to perform these functions on delicate circuit cards. 

Education Required:
An Associate's degree in electronics technology from an accredited school

Experience/Education Preferred:
Eight (8) years work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electronic precision measurement and calibration laboratory reference standards
