Why doesn't admin delete the account of the spammer.

I would shut down the whole IP address not just the user ID... or better yet a range of IP addresses, the whole subnet. Then the spammers would have to find a whole new service provider to continue.

I vote for the whole subnet if possible. I really doubt we have too many legit users on here from China.

Ummmm, the admin does delete the spammers as soon as they spam.  I'm sorry if it's not quick enough, but it all goes.  Usually within the day.   I then ban that user by IP, username, host, and e-mail.

As well, I've also setup the .htaccess file (which denies/allows access to the entire domain, to block a ton of known spammer country IP addresses.

I also occasionally peruse the logs looking for trends and if I spot any, I ban them too.

Believe me there are a lot of deterrents to signing up and spamming this site and it's a constant battle.  I think we should probably should be thankful that it's only the small number that actually  make it through the defenses and that they aren't running rampant around here.
There are only 10 types of people in this world.  Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I think we all appreciate you Hoopty.  We all appreciate this forum and the PMEL-esque networking available therein.
