I've noticed that the new post only turns orange when YOU post a new message.  Not whenever any other user does.  Maybe there is something about the adminstrator and user scripts that are different.  Also maybe there should be a how to area on how to add a picture under your name like you have with your K-Stamp or is that going to be a right reserved for only adminastrators and higher up personnel?

I know that you've figured it out browndav, but for the rest of the users, the orange icon is for unread posts.  If you make a post, the forum doesn't mark that post as unread.  This is due to the fact that you've, in a sense, already read that post since it was you that posted it.  

As for the picture, it looks like you've found that one too.  Avatars are enabled for all users.  You are allowed to upload them from your local machine, a URL, and even link it to a good URL.  The only restriction is that they must be 101 x 101 pixels or less in size and be smaller than 6 KB to upload them.

I'm having trouble locating where to upload or link my avatar.  So far, I've just seen the limited selection of them in the drop down menu.  
Are we still able to use customized avatars?  If so, how do I do it?
I'm a member on a lot of different forums, so I've used them before.  This one is a little different for me. Thanks :lol:

There are actually 2 different tables in the database for user info.  One for the content management system (CMS), which is under My Account on the left hand bar.  The other is the forum profile which is located at the top of the forum page.  I know that this is a confusion, but it is due integrating the two pieces of software.  Most of the info is automatically loaded into both tables, but the forum has some different settings than the CMS and vice versa.  So you still have to visit both in order to fully customise your settings.  Hopefully future releases will further integrate the two...

edit:  I am working on putting stuff like this in the FAQ section.  It's still a work in progress though,  so if you have a question to ask, and you think it will benefit all users, submit it via the FAQ module.
