Sony vs. Microsoft vs. Nintendo

Given that these major corporations are in a war for our money, I'd like to know who might win amoung the PMEL community.  Given Microsofts propensity to never do anything right the first time, and Nintendo's apparent need to cater almost exclusively to kids, I am gunning for the PS3.

I still don't have my pre-ordered Xbox 360, Sony's DRM nonsense pisses me off, and the Nintendo's new controller looks like a tv remote. I say none of them win.

Still looking for a few people to give their opinion on this one.  Or are all the people that might play the ones who haven't been on in a year, year and a half?  At any rate, even if you don't play, than vote for the one you might if you did.  Please?

I voted for the xbox360 even though I'm not much into gaming. It may replace my dvd player someday and give me some of the capabilities of a home theater PC.

But then again, it won't be until MS works out the bugs and I can walk into a store and pick one up for regular price.

I would guess that a lot of us are employed, married, with a house and children, and the allocation of spare time might be fairly slim, such that an actual opportunity to play games never comes along...  I haven't played since Zelda came out, and I vaguely remember some long evenings in Italy playing after the kids went to bed.  Man, that was 12 years ago...

seeing how the xbox360 has three 3.2GHz core CPUs and the PS3 will only have one, I will stick with my xbox360. I have not had any problems with the unit and had it since Christmas. Well, the truth is my 8 year old son has had it since Christmas and I payed $250 over the retail price. My son and I just couldn't wait.

It really stuns me how many people prefer the PS3 over the xbox360 when the PS3 has not even come out yet. Do you remember when Chevy announced it was bringing the Nova back. It was the mid 80's and my brother was so excited until he saw it. It ended up being a 4 cylinder and about the size of a Civic. My point is, don't get your hopes up about the PS3 until you actually play it. At this point this poll is pointless because no one here has played the PS3.

    Okay, you got me there.  It may be that Sony may be building up more than they can deliver.  The 360 may indeed be better than the PS3, I am just relying on past Microsoft and Sony performance.  Now, if I am wrong and the 360 outshines the PS3 then you better believe I'll have one sitting in my entertainment center.  I won't not buy it just because it has the Microsoft name on it.  Thanks for the perspective.

TOKYO - Sony will put off the release of its much awaited PlayStation 3 console until November from its planned spring debut because of delays in finalizing its next-generation optical disc technology, the company said Wednesday.

Looks like it will be a little while longer before we see the PS3...

I'll buy a console that has a lot of games I like. Sometimes, that applies to all of them. Otherwise, I'm indifferent.

Well, it may have been mentioned in the "video game" topic, but the PS3 release is coming up!  Start saving your pennies. 

Dallanta, I gotta ask.  Why don't you like Sony?

  Way overpriced, I have a daughter that used to work for them in sales in warranty.
I do not like the way they treat people.  Then again, it is not just sony.  Mitsubishi is the same way.
