Nosey managers...

I found out that a manager from another department told our department head that I was talking all day with another person and not working last Friday. This manager who keeped walking by the windows of the Phys.D. lab Friday and looking assumed I was not working didn't know I was actually training a technician. This pissed me off. So I went to my boss and told him that I can no longer train anyone due to the fact that it will make me look bad. This didn't set well with my boss. He went and told his boss and the next thing I know I am being taken to lunch by my bosses boss. I think he just wanted me to know that everything is cool, but I am still pissed off. Those of you who know me know that once I'm pissed, I'm pissed. The manager that decided that I was socializing and not working needs to keep his nose out of my business and handle his own. I used to like that manager, but I think he showed his real color yesterday. Does anyone else have to deal with these types of Bi+che$?  :x

Looks like the nosey manager is jealous that you're not working in his department, and is just looking to stir the pot.  Either that or his department is running so remarkably well that he has nothing to do except cause trouble somewhere else.  That being highly unlikely, he's probably just a nosey little prick with no sense...

Your boss ought to tell him that you do more work just talking than his entire department does all day.  He should also tell him to take care of his own business, and your boss will take care of his.
If it works, it's a Fluke.
