Last I heard Davis was partnering up with Agilent, but this is new... Anyone have a link to the press release?
Kirk: "Scotty you're confined to quarters." Scotty: "Thank you, Captain! Now I have a chance to catch up on my technical journals!"

Surely this must be a direct result of global warming and a conspiracy involving the former Bush administration.

Griff..I'll trade you you're 40" of snow for the -20 F here, any day..plus, I know some great fishing spots in PA and NY...

If they send you up to Ft. Drum..the streams around Wescott Beach are great for trout and smallmouth...

My kid was born in Watertown when I was stationed at Drum back in the last century, be there for a month TDY in April, so there'll only be 6 or 7 feet of snow left...

Yeah, I was at Griffiss '74 to '76, worked at the Verona Test Site...by Dec '75, we had over six feet of snow..then I got my assignment to the Phillipines, and was there by March of '76 (two months travel time because of use of dog sleds  :-D  ).

Have a great one, and take care through Syracuse, ya know they have an upside down traffic light there....

Davis Caibration, Sypris, Tektronix, DHI, Fluke, Hart, Raytek, Ircon, DataPaq, DNI, Biotek, Metron.   I'm sure there's more to come.   Test equipment is a small part of their world.   They are heavily into the medical and dental world.   They are worldwide.  Danaher is a cash heavy company and they'll wait until they think you're at rock bottom when they come with the cash.   If they had a nice linear company, the only ones standing in their way for US metrology and calibration would be Agilent.   Good luck trying that with Hewlett Packard behind them.   I just spent the last 5 years working for Danaher before I left.   They underpay and overwork everyone.   They're good for the stockholders; not so good for the employees.   Has anyone seen a comment from Colleen Maxwell since this happened?  Danaher definitely likes to run hiring and HR their own way.   The word is out on them.   A lot of really good people will leave a company very quickly when they learn they've just been bought out by Danaher.   The way they stick it to some is that you don't get a severance package if you leave before they want you to.

I wonder what's up with the guys that worked in the Fluke Service Center in Dallas that got shut down last year. It must be pretty strange for them to see the Danaher mother ship bulking up calibration capability and locations under the Tek flag while decreasing metrology facilities for Fluke.

They will be rehired at much reduced pay@!@!
