Did Danaher just buy Sypris T&M or Sypris Solutions?  Does Danaher consolidate like companies or run reach company on their own?

They wish!  It's not that good.   You cherry pick a few of the best, bring them to Everett and release the rest.   Then you tell the ones you brought along that they have to meet the same customer turnaround time with less people because you'll have increased efficiencies at the combined site.   The others are just SOL.

I wondered about Fluke in Dallas also, I miss them.

Here is the text from the acquisition notice for Sypris.

Sypris Test & Measurement Joins The Tektronix Family
Tektronix has signed an agreement to acquire Sypris Test & Measurement (STM), a leading provider of calibration services, testing and component sourcing services and specialty products.  This acquisition will enable more local support for Tektronix customers' service needs including temporary on site, permanent onsite, mobile and depot based calibration for more than 96,000 Tektronix and other test & measurement vendor products.

Well here we are 7 months after the mast. . . . . . . .

We will soon all be known as "Tektronix Service Solutions" No more Davis, no more Sypris. . . . . . just one big happy Tektronix family. . . . . . . . new logos should come out very soon. . . . . . . . . . business cards, new certs. . . . etc etc

It's been an interesting assimilation. . . . . . . . . our organizational structure is back in place almost like it was when we were part of GE :)

RFCAL

The only big independant left is Agilent.

Maybe I missed it in another thread, but is Simco still independant? Just curious...I was thinking they were bought by another company in recent years or even months.

Next will come the cuts (I mean consolidations) of people and labs.

And then 140,000 AFTO 45's submitted to AFPSL so the company can be reflected in the K-100

I spent a lot of years doing GE calibration.  I am just wonder who you are?  How have things been since the service got sold off by GE?

Whatever happened to Colleen Maxwell? Is she still out there? Do you still work at Davis Colleen?

metrologygeek

Colleen is currently working as a Business Process Analyst at ARRIS, which is a broadband networking company here in Silicon Valley. I think she is still a recruiter, though. Her last post on Linkedin reads "Looking to hire three Techncial Sales Engrs to work in Mountain View, CA. IP sales with BGP, caching and CRM experience is ideal." So, she appears to be learning a whole new set of acronyms. I don't think she stayed more than a month or two after Davis was bought by Danaher.

Good for Colleen. I think she got out at just the right time. It will be interesting to see what happens once the name change goes into effect.

USMCPMEL

Why would you think anything would change after the name change? Everything has already been integrated and They have been switched over to the Danaher systems. I think everything that is going to change will have changed already.
