I just did almost that exact model.  It was one with a bad probe, a new probe was purchased, and I needed to optimize the unit to the new probe.  I used the "hunt and peck" method.  Along the left side were a number of 10-turn pots.  I put the unit in a Hart drywell (the RTD probe, that is).  I set the Hart to zero C using a higher accuracy PRT with Fluke 8508A as the reference.  I think it was the tope three pots that made the adjustment.  Not sure if Control Company is proprietary.  But if you have any luck getting them to release adjustment locations, I'd love to see it.

Within about a half hour, I was able to satisfactorily align the unit to within specs.  It seems like either the top or second pot was the zero C adjustment point.

The adjustment procedure is done at the following points in order 25, 0, 60, 100°C. You can add -40 and 140°C but most of my clients don't use them outside of to 0 to 100°C range. Set you bath to as close to 25°C as you can and press HOLD, MIN/MAX and .0 buttons simultaneously. The meter will adjust to 25.000°C. Repeat at the remaining temperatures in order.

The unit I did was a Control Company model 4000.  Does this method apply to the model 4000 as well?

UPDATE:  Apparently the model 4000 is one and the same.  I wish I had known when the unit was received.  I'll have to save the above instructions for future reference.

NC-Cals Thanks!! :-D :-D I could not get any information from Control Company.

Not surprising from Control Company. They are very tight lipped about their alignments. Not my favorite company to deal with.

This adjustment worked great for the older models. The new version from Fisher Scientific model 15-077-8 (picture attached) has a USB connection for the probe. When I follow the procedure above, I get a "FULL" reading on the display at 100°C. When I start over, the reading at 25°C is 0.2°C low and will not adjust. No further adjustments are possible. I have disconnected the battery to let it sit for a while, but still no joy after starting over again.

Does anyone have any ideas what I should be looking at?

Thank you for your help!!!
