DATRON/WAVETEK 1271 error

Hello,

I have just got a Datron Wavetek 1271 with options 10 (AC) 20 (Ohms) and 30 (current). At power up it displays
9005,9  pon    tru/compl     001736
According to the manual 9005 is a serial interface error bur nothing about 9 and the pon... Before desoldering all the IC involved, has anybody an idea for identifying the failed part of the serial interface ?
