On a side note: I found this to be an interesting read. It is along the lines of the discussion that we had some time ago on the differences between a calibration technician and a metrologist.

Now if only someone would do a salary survey to go along with the Dept. of Labor definitions of a calibration technician/engineer/metrologist. Where I'm at, technician wages are based on what they'd make as instrument and control (I&C) techs at local refineries. Actually, it must be lower than that, because when they go and do on-site calibrations, and catch wind of what they could be making, the turnstile starts spinning...
