Hey, anything south of the Mason-Dixon line is the South! Texas would be the south if they only served sweet tea! :cry:

When I left Lackland AFB after Basic Training, I vowed I would never step foot in Texas again if I could help it.  (Going through Basic in San Antonio in the summer seemed to upset my delicate upstate New York disposition- it was just too damned hot there for me)  We had a guy die of heat stroke while we were there, and while the Marines on this site will groan and regale us with horror stories of Parris Island, I will say that a summer in San Antonio is enough to make me really appreciate my weather in Ohio!

My nephew works at Dyess AFB, but no visits from his favorite uncle until he PCS's to Europe!
If it works, it's a Fluke.

I went to Ruska Instruments for Static Pressure Measurement School back in 1995. Ruska is located in Houston and man was it humid. You almost have to wear scuba gear just to go outside. I was miserable. I never felt heat like that. :cry:
